BUDAYA LOKAL KAYU MERABAH

This article is intended to introduce the benefits of redwood bark. The bark of "Merabah" in  Dayak Iban Sebaruk, It known as one of the many natural potentials that are very useful in everyday life. Historically, this bark has been inherited by "aki'k-ini'k kelia'k" (ancient ancestors). The Dayak Iban Sebaruk believe that the medicated bark can be used for various purposes such as: driving away mosquitoes, and protecting the house from evil spirits. The way to process it is still using traditional methods as practiced by the ancestors since ancient times. The chopped wood is peeled and taken as necessary so that the tree does not die. After that, the hard ground bark is softened with wood or other striking tools such as hammers and axes. The soft Merabah wood is dried in the sun until it is completely dry.
